L.A got people saying la la la la la in words of Fergie…..
Now we getting to even better part of West Coast California the Hollywood Celebrity based state ya’ll call Los Angeles!
After leaving the Monte Carlo in Vegas and our cabbie getting lost trying to find the bus station for Bolt Buses (who are super cheap and quick by the way) we boarded the bus ride outta Vegas in good spirits from night before. Time to get outta the desert and down to the expensive side of the coast where all celebs hang out, maybe I might fit in as well who knows. It’s just bantz people if your still reading on that is 😉
After arriving at hotel I have myself a mini panic attack. I truly believe I’ve left my iPhone in the taxi that I was just in. I look everywhere for it in the room but it’s nowhere to see! Has my luck finally run out!? I panic and Usain Bolt into a taxi back to the bus station which is fortunately close by to try find the same cabbie that took us previously but he’s obviously out driving somebody else around isn’t he! On brink of tears here and then I get a phone call on my other phone…. It’s my gf, she’s found my phone! ‘Score!’ Only prob I have now is she’s locked out of our room as I have the room key and she isn’t happy about it one bit. I have some making up to do and as soon as I knock on the door she opens it and had obviously had to ask a handy man to help her back in our room, my tail is between my legs here. I apologise more then ever and after ten mins she eases up on me a bit and what with us both being so hungry we needed to head out locally and get some food as both of us are very ratty, got my phone back though so cheers babe ;). We find a nice burger diner where you can make your own burger and I must say it was very tasty. Our hotel was downtown near China town as it seemed everywhere in L.A. is incredibly pricey! Not very Hollywood! We then get back and book the ‘Starline’bus tour which was recommended by a friend back home, you know who you are ;). We pay for a 48 hour bus tour ride where we aren’t actually on the blinking bus for 48 hours exactly it just covered us for that time period and it is scheduled to take us everywhere we need to go in L.A. for next two days so Bev Hills, Hollywood, Universal Studios here we come!
So it’s an early start and we grab the bus at about 09:30 and head into town. It’s a lovely day and we’ve got it spot on by taking our seats on top deck and topping up the tan whilst cruising on a bus ride. On our way into town we pass the more corporate based area of L.A. with the usual big skyline buildings you see everywhere but as we get onto the highway to Hollywood we get to see the big white Hollywood sign on top of the hills in the distance. We are a bit too far away to obviously hope that the bus can stop off so we could grab a quick selfie!
So our first stop is Hollywood Boulevard. Palm trees everywhere and we are both immediately on the lookout for anybody famous so how about a trip to the Hollywood Madame Tussards for some fake celebrity waxworks in the meantime for starters. If you do the Starline tour it comes in five diff colours which all go to diff places in L.A. You also get a discount for Madame Tussards if you book with them directly so it’s defo worth doing. So many stars on the pavements here but now it’s time to go see some proper stars only these ones are made of wax! Here are a few shots from the day out there….

Sorry for the abundance of photos above! We then realise we have an hour to kill so what better way of doing it then some Hollywood ten pin bowling where all the local celebs go to bowl at ‘Lucky Strike’ Bowling centre! My plan is to smash Biebers “Power” score but had to settle in beating Lebron James instead ;)! Not a bad bit of street cred earnt there I guess! After finishing up doing a victory dance of what not we hop back on the bus and go for cruise around Beverley Hills which is ridiculously full of every expensive clothes and jewellery designer ware label you can even think of. We decide being as we done so much in one day we better off doing Universal Studios the next.
The bus journey took us round back end of L.A. Near China Town, Korea Town and little Tokyo, the homeless rate here this end is the complete opposite end to uptown in Hollywood Beverley Hills. I never expected to see that in L.A. and in fairness when the bus pulled in within these areas I wasn’t keen on getting off, just a tad nervous if anything with a lot of drunken homeless people everywhere clearly to see. We finally arrive home after being out all day get some food and get set for all the fun to begin all over again tomorrow. Our hostel is downtown but on right side of town fortunately away from all the trouble. Police sirens are becoming the norm now at night time and we are getting used to it.
It’s a new day, new dawn, new life, for me, and I’m feeling…surprisingly good actually! Very excited for Universal Studios! Especially as I’m still a big Transformers fan at my tender age ;).
We are up and raring to go, Autobots roll out and all that and go back to where we were picked up from yesterday, then whilst waiting for our bus which seems to be about half hour late to our amusement I spot a lunatic woman push over a defenceless Chinese lady for no utter reason! We can quite clearly see this nut job is clearly on something. All you can hear is F you, your an asshole and F that then a guy comes in outta nowhere and protects the Chinese lady away outta harms way and it seemed nothing would calm this psycho woman down. People step in to break it up and then the local community support turn up on green scooters to pin the loon to the ground yet she is still not resisting! Hussin and cussin! Still it’s great to watch though and now here comes justice served, woop woop it’s the sound of the police! After a long wait they bung her in back of a police car in cuffs only for us to find we see the same lunatic on our tour walking around shouting to randoms looking for trouble. The police had obviously let the loon off with a warning! Great entertainment for us though. So much for justice eh America! Crazy rules! Crazy country! God dammit! Drugs don’t work clearly!
So we boarded one bus that took us into Hollywood Boulevard then boarded a small shuttle bus that takes you right up to the top of the hills and this is where Universal Studios is. Word of advice before you go inside, grab some food in the market outlet strip before you go in and also look for discounted price entry tickets, do not make same mistake we made. $80 entry fee! Ouch but we here now so guess we pay it and hope for best. Red carpet after paying to get in, we have arrived ;). The expensive fee covers you for everything bar food. I bump into a Beetlejuice impersonator on my way in, he’s keen for a selfie!
There are all sorts of dress up acts here, it’s same all over Hollywood strip! Our first ride is the Krusty the clown rollercoaster from the Simpsons, there’s all sorts to look at here even a Harry Potter castle set up which opens up later this year. There’s a handy time limit schedule for how long you have to wait in cues for each ride. I’m not the greatest with theme park rides but I paid big dollar to get in so naturally I’m going to try to go on everything, very apprehensive for my first ride though, feel like I’m fourteen all over again. Here goes!
So to my relief the ride is a simulator! Although I must say it was still a intense experience. Well worth doing! Next up was to go see some Transformers God dammit! These I had no idea how they are controlled, so real it’s scary! First up was BumbleBee. Enjoy!
Pretty sick huh! Next up was Megatron, he was just like he is in movies! They all were!
Crazy kinda sick now! I know what your thinking don’t worry! What made it even more fun was there was a mini Optimus Prime figure in the bag I was holding. Let’s just say he wasn’t best pleased to see this! Time for Prime!

Yes they all talk back to you! I’m literally amazed by how good these things are. Prime even asked where we were from and offered to do a special request for us by doing a direct message to us especially to my gfs phone for her kids back home. Had to say I was tad envious lol, he didn’t know much about Essex though to my devestation! Optimus out!!
Next we went on the Mummy ride which was pretty decent actually. Very fast but fun and saved us bit of time actually as cue was short. Call me biast but the Transformers ride was so much better and I forgot to mention about the Jurassic Park ride too (that comes with a guarantee of getting wet but not with excitement!). Check out this cool raptor video also as we were finishing up, unreal!
Please excuse my hair here, I fancied a change that day! Surprised the raptor didn’t bite it off! On our way out we pass the Fast And Furious exhibition, very nice cars!
Time to head on home now, as Frankenstein tries to stop us arghhhhhh! Next stop San Diegoooooooo on stinky Greyhound! See ya soon folks!
